What Just Happened? | Novatr’s Year in Review 2022

On the Life Front  

It’s as the saying goes – a family that eats together (well, in our case, also brainstorms together, strategizes together, builds together), stays together!

🫂 The Team Grew By 9X. 
At the start of the year, we were 10 odd faces beaming at each other on a Google Meet screen, amidst the lockdown. Today, there are about 90 of us occupying the larger part of an entire WeWork floor.

🏘️ We Moved 4 Offices. 
FOUR. That’s more than what most companies do in a lifetime. In January 2022, those of us in Delhi were huddling up in a little garage-turned-workspace. A little while later, we moved into the most adorable little office space in Panchsheel. By the summer, the flat was already feeling too packed and so some of us spilled over into another space in Asian Games Village. Finally, in September, we made ourselves comfortable in WeWork – which supplied enough coffee to keep us going and TT games galore.

Building a Product to Die For

Every company that has its origins in a garage is destined to create products that slay. It’s the rule. And we are no exception.

🚀 Innovation-Led Courses
The very first cohort of the BIM Professional Course kicked off in January, with learners and mentors joining from around the world. At this moment, we knew we were poised to be first movers in the AEC upskilling space, giving young professionals an opportunity to learn the industry’s most in-demand skill. A few action-packed months later, we announced the brand new Master Computational Design Course that allows architects and engineers to learn even cooler things like automation for design optimization. 

⚡Other Futuristic Stuff

Tech-first learning cannot happen without great digital infrastructure. So we did build a kickass Learning Management System (LMS), yes, but then we dared to go a step further. We curated an immersive, gamified project experience for our BIM learners – a technique that allowed them to exploit their creativity and imagine real-world situations within a virtual simulation.

In addition, the development of mentor tools for teaching and assessment came through seamlessly. We even built a dashboard for our hiring partners to recruit talent directly from our platform! To sum up, we made sure all our stakeholders were very well taken care of and they had everything they could possibly need for a memorable experience.

An A+ for Operations

Humans are probably the most complex creatures on the planet. So naturally, finding ways to inspire them collectively and bring them together on a platform to partake in a unified mission of revolutionising the AEC industry is nothing short of a herculean feat.

🔍 Problem-Solving Is Our Middle Name
Here’s what our stream of consciousness has looked like: 
“How can architects and engineers earn better?” → “How can pedagogies evolve to support this?” → “Can industry leaders guide the way?” → “Can we also fill the industry’s talent gap along the way?” We’ve been working to solve these questions all year round!
